Operation Fairy Godmother The Cinderella Project
The Event -Sunday, May 20, 2001 Was A Grand Success!! A magical day of beauty, celebration, personal empowerment and rejuvenation, was provided for over 180 courageous women who are survivors of domestic violence and currently living in shelters throughoutSan Diego County
Sprinkled with the fairy tale magic of Cinderella, women began the day by being picked up in a modern day chariot, escorted by one of their Fairy Godmothers, and taken to the Top 15 Salons in La Jolla for pampering, haircuts, beauty makeovers, more pampering, and lunch.
F ollowing their morning of pampering women were whisked off in limousines to the castle courtyard to participate in a star-filled afternoon on inner beauty designed to rejuvenate the spirit, soothe the souland open the heart with the light of possibility. The afternoon program presented by The Institute for Global Healing provided education, laughter & cheers of "Yes I Can!" as various inspirational speakers, authors & educators spoke on how to empower the authentic self, awaken the beauty within and move forward more freely and confidently in every dimension of the life.
A group mentoring program called Operation Fairy Godmother is now being implemented in shelters countywide
