Providing Life Skills Education to Enrich, Nurture and Rebuild
the Heart & Soul of Our Global Community.

The Institute for Global Healing

Our mission statement is to develop an organization within our community that supports and enhances existing community service organizations and promotes life skills education to teach precious skills such as self reliance, faith, hope, love, joy and dignity in order to inspire and spark passion in the heart. To encourage individuals to step into their balanced power, awaken their minds potential, live life with purpose in thought, action and speech and create an unshakeable identity.

Life skills are simple, yet priceless qualities we all have within our hearts that give us purpose, direction and fulfillment in our lives. Life skills teach us how to truthfully express our human magnificence, rise above our own perceived limitations and achieve success within our lives and the world at large.

Who We Are

A non-profit corporation and a group of dedicated educators, professionals and practitioners committed to nurturing the heart and soul of our global community and to implementing life skills education programs into standard school curriculum.

Catherine Tilley,  Founder and Executive Director

The members of the Institute for Global Healing, chose to develop the organization with a focus on young girls and women due to our expertise with women’s issues and due to the fact that women are the bearers of life, the primary caretakers of the children, the light of our future.

We believe that when a young woman learns how to love, accept, honor herself and others, she is then able to pass this knowledge on to her children, thus taking a positive step towards ending the cycle of abuse, neglect, violence and despair that continues to pour down through the generations. By placing an emphasis on education for the empowerment and the enlightenment of women, we are helping to insure, for our children, a loving home and a life caressed with gentleness and greatness.

Why start a New Organization Devoted to the Healing of our Community?

Founders of the Institute for Global Healing began the organization to fulfill a void we felt to be of great importance to the health, well being and future of our society. It seems that we live in a time of great prosperity and wealth where many enjoy the luxuries brought about by industry and technological advance, yet it is crystal clear that while we advance in matters of overall technology and economic growth we appear to be losing ground in matters of the heart and soul.

One would agree that the necessities of food, shelter and clothing are of immense importance to the quality of life. Furthermore, traditional education providing the skills of reading, writing and arithmetic is crucial element to enhance our children’s lives and ensure a brighter future for them. Yet it seems there is something missing.

With all the technology, economic growth, medical advancement, social services and luxury thrown about in the modern world, why do we feel that we are missing something deep within our hearts? What about the nameless, faceless masses who fall through the cracks in our myriad of institutions both in the private and public sector? What of those who drop out of our fast paced society altogether? And, what about those of us who hang in there, doing the best we can to survive, yet still feel a sense of emptiness and despair?

It is our feeling at the Institute for Global healing that by networking together to provide skills and training related to the matters of the heart and soul we can powerfully improve the quality of our lives and our community and thereby help the world at large.

Presently, where can one go to learn such things? Most assume we learn these matters within our home and place of worship, or through fellowship in clubs and organizations. Although these resources are valuable to many, so many more are without guidance and direction in our rapidly expanding and complex world. So much focus has been diverted from the simple matters of family and home into the work force and economics that it seems there is little time or effort put forth to matters of the heart.

As technology moves us rapidly through life we must keep our goals in site. To remember the importance of human connection. To advance as a species it is our hearts that must evolve to higher level. To learn how to love and honor one another and together discover the wonders of our human potential and enjoy the fruits of its rewards.
