Operation Fairy Godmother
Preparation for monthly meetings at shelters
*There will be several Fairy Godmothers assigned to each shelter. Be sure to get contact list from the Institute. Each group to set a time to meet with other Fairy Godmothers 1 week prior to the shelter date scheduled in order to prepare.
*Briefly go over the format, setting the intention for the meeting. (Remember we are all sharing in this experience to expand our selves and open up to new possibilities. We are not here to fix anything. We are here to support one another on the journey to discovering our individual and collective feminine strength and brilliance. We have as much to learn as we do to teach.)
*Clarify the role you each will play and the environment you wish to create.
*Decide how you will decorate the room and set up for fostering communication and participation.
*Talk about games you can play for ice breakers that are fun and educational
*Decide on what kind of treats you want to bring and who is bringing what
*Decide which Fairy godmothers will lead each segment
*Figure out a signal for one another when a certain game plan is not working so you can shift into something more effective and engages the residents more fully. Remember we are all learning how to do this with one another for the first time. There are no failures only opportunities for growth and expansion.

c) Let the residents know why you are here, the game plan for the meeting and future meetings: Here's a suggestion
"We are here today to find out how we can best support you on your journey to becoming all that you can be and perhaps assist you, by sharing our knowledge and experience regarding the things that have worked in our own lives, in designing an effective plan to achieve your dreams. We are not here to tell you what you should do or not do, because only you know what is best for you, we are only here to share what has worked for us. And if at any time you feel being here is a waste of your time then you are free to choose and encouraged to do what you feel serves your best interest. After all, the best way to practice being the strong, magnificent woman you intend to become is to speak up and live out loud. We are here because we want to be here. We have all come through adversity and are now quite successful with various skills and backgrounds. This is all going to be really in formal and it is a time to have fun. I know when things get kind of crazy in my life the first thing that happens is the fun and playfulness goes right out the window. So we are just here to kind of help lighten things up and perhaps offer some new perspective. It's your time away from the kids, a time to just for you. We'll play games, learn about one another, share our dreams and perhaps open up to the possibilities of life. So that's pretty much it. We are just going to hang out together and see how it goes, is that okay with you?. "
The first thing is to find out a little bit about one another. So let's begin by introducing ourselves in the following manner:
I am __________________ tell us a little bit about yourself, what you like, your personal and professional background and a little about your hopes and dreams followed by...and right now I want more ______ in my life
(All Fairy Godmothers share 1st in order to role model the process)
This time together is about opening up the door to new possibilities in our lives! How can we have more joy, be more playful, bring more laughter, express more freely, be the awesome, star-filled, wise women we truly are!.... We are all just learning as we go and we, as women, have great stories and valuable information to share with one another. We are here today to say lets find new and creative ways to support one another on our individual and collective journey to discovering our feminine strength and brilliance!
Play a little game to match fairy godmothers with residents: finding commonality with one another. Have residents and fairy godmothers trade stars and take about 5 minutes each to tell each other how we can have more of .....(what is written on the star) in our lives.
Have fairy godmothers then it next to resident match.
Theme for the day is always "I Believe in me and a world of Possibilities!
So as a group decide on a topic for discussion. Pick the area of life you would like to focus, women, self expression, career, body, creativity, relationships, laughter, etc.
How can we be more effective in this area of our life? Have Fairy Godmothers begin in order to have residents feel more comfortable in sharing as well.
Fairy godmothers you are encouraged to share your personal resources of strength, inspiration and rejuvenation...
The following are great for sharing and discussion. These are various life skills, universal principles and statements of empowerment I have learned in my adult education while studying human behavior, NLP, Hypnosis, personal mastery, and mind/body health. Fairy Godmothers, you may want to use these in relation to the chosen theme and then state how the principle has helped you or is applicable in your own life.
We react to our perception of reality not to reality itself.
When we choose our thoughts we choose our world.
The world is a reflection of our thoughts and the perception we hold of self.
When we look for the beauty and it is the beauty we will see.
What we focus on we will become.
The mind is a goal seeking organism and will always support and nurture our deepest held beliefs.
Our power is in this moment.
We are the only ones who can keep us from our success.
Our body is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves.
Ask and we shall receive.
When we keep our goal in sight it allows us to easily recognize when when we get off track
Oxygen and water are miracle workers.
There are only two emotions, love and fear.
Imagination is more powerful than logic.
It is far better to be proactive rather than reactive.
We are consistently learning how to communicate with one another.
Each one of us is unique. No one else will ever see, feel, know and express things exactly the same way that we see, feel, know and express things.
Communication is the response we elicit.
Whether we believe that we can or believe that we can’t we are right.
Attitude can be the difference between success and failure.
The past does not always equal the future.
When we really love ourselves everything else works.
We all make the very best choices we can with the awareness and information we have at the time.
Every thought we think is creating our future.
We are love merely cloaked in learned behaviors.
There is no competition and no comparison for we are all different and are meant to be that way.
Every moment we have the power to create either something ordinary or something extraordinary.
We learn from our mistakes so make as many as possible.
Encourage all women to share their personal wisdom and resources of strength, rejuvenation and inspiration. After sharing you may want to do playful & educational exercise to move the energy around shift the focus once again to having more joy, laughter and play in our lives- remind one another not to take life or ourselves to seriously: After exercise discuss the way the game represents life
examples:
* Find a partner, someone you don't know or normally associate with. Now a name of a
person, male, female or even a character or cartoon on a piece of paper and tape it on the
back of your partner. When you are finished you must guess the name on your back by
asking your partner the fewest questions possible.
* This one is great for getting everyone on equal ground, stepping into our creative selves and
letting go of judgment of ourselves and others. It can only be done in groups of 10
or less. Get in a circle, and have each person think of an animal, without saying what it is,
one by one have them make the sound of that animal and a gesture that animal might make.
Upon each person's turn they must first do their animal sound and gesture and repeat all
those that have gone before them.
* Find your astrological sign and group together- ask questions what qualities of this sign
support you in your dream?
* If you were a color what color would you be? Find your opposite color partners and
talk about why you like this color and how it makes you feel. Did you see it around you in
your perfect day?
* If you were an animal what animal would you be? What skills does this animal have
relevant to achieving your dream?
It is important to recognize the timing with this aspect of the entire program. Please keep in mind that the goal of this time together is to nurture and encourage the voice of each woman. This is accomplished by creating equal time frames for sharing. Also use your intuition, if something is not working and creating distance be ready to shift to something else. If at anytime, you are at a loss for direction, ask the group what they would like to do in this time.
5) Closing Fairy Godmother meeting
a) Ask them if they enjoyed their time with you and if they would like you to come back? b) Ask them what they would like to in the monthly meetings.
c) Have them write down on a piece of paper what they thought about your time together and then have them drop in box on way out. They are to do this anonymously. This will help us in getting approval to continue this program.
d) Let them know the plan for next week and what to bring with them. Ask them if there is something in particular they would like to talk next week?
Month 2
Same Format only right after brainstorming after introductions make treasure maps and goal collages for achieving goals
