Iran launched ballistic missile attacks on US military bases in Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait and Bahrain after accusing Washington of killing four people at a wedding in southern Iran, officials said.

The strikes mark an escalation in hostilities between the two countries, with Iran's Revolutionary Guards targeting Camp Titin in Jordan with what they described as an intense ballistic missile attack, according to reports.

Iranian authorities said a US missile strike hit a home in Kuhestak, Hormozgan province, late Tuesday where a wedding ceremony was taking place. Reports indicate the blast killed four people, including two children according to some accounts, and wounded between 67 and 68 guests with shrapnel and debris.

Iran's Red Crescent called for an International Criminal Court investigation into the incident, which Tehran labeled a war crime. The US has denied targeting civilians, according to reports.

The wedding strike followed earlier US airstrikes on Iranian targets, including facilities linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guards, officials said. The exchange of strikes has raised concerns about a broader renewal of hostilities between Washington and Tehran.

The US and Iran have not provided casualty figures from the Iranian counter-strikes on American military installations. The attacks targeted US interests across four countries in the region, authorities confirmed.
